Our Identity & Purpose

Whether you feel far from God or this is all new to you, He is ready to receive you. If you’re ready to start a relationship with Jesus, you can begin with this simple prayer:

Jesus, I need You. I turn away from my sin and put my trust in You. I believe You gave Your life for me and rose again. Forgive me, renew me, and lead me into the life You’ve prepared for me. I surrender my heart and my future to You. Amen.

Our Core Values

Everything we do at Good News Church is anchored in three guiding values: Connect, Disciple, and Empower. These define how we live out our mission as we pursue God’s kingdom here on earth.

Our Beliefs

What we believe defines who we are, shapes what we teach, and brings us together as a church. We invite you to explore these truths and discover how they guide our faith and mission.

One God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

We believe in one eternal God revealed in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each is fully God, equal in nature and power, distinct in role, and perfectly united in purpose and love.

Matthew 28:19
2 Corinthians 13:14
John 14:16–17

We believe people were created good and in God’s image, but through disobedience, sin entered the world. As a result, all are separated from God and in need of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Genesis 3:1–7
Romans 3:23
Romans 5:12

We believe salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone. Through His death and resurrection, we are forgiven, made new, and brought into right relationship with God—by grace through faith, not by our works.

John 14:6
Acts 4:12
Ephesians 2:8–9
Romans 10:9–10

We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a distinct experience following salvation. It empowers believers, strengthens their spiritual life, and equips them for bold witness and service.

Acts 1:8
Acts 2:4
Luke 24:49
Acts 10:44–46

We believe the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to believers to strengthen the Church and advance God’s mission. These gifts are active today, given by His will to equip every believer and reveal His power and presence.

1 Corinthians 12:4–11
Romans 12:6–8
Ephesians 4:11–13

We believe the Church exists to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we share the gospel, serve others, grow in community, and carry His love to our neighborhoods and the nations.

Matthew 28:19–20
Acts 1:8
Ephesians 4:11–13

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word—true, trustworthy, and authoritative for life. It reveals who God is, His plan of salvation, and serves as the foundation for faith, teaching, and daily living.

2 Timothy 3:16–17
2 Peter 1:20–21
Psalm 119:105

Meet Our Lead Pastor

Greg Dom grew up in the South and came to faith in Christ before studying at Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, Florida. During that time, he met Carissa Garcia, a pastor’s daughter and former missionary, and they later married. Together, they served in young adult ministry in Pensacola and were active in teaching and worship at her home church in Brooksville, led by her father.

At Good News Church, Greg has served in several pastoral roles, including Young Adults, Ministry Teams, Youth, and Leadership Development. Carissa has faithfully led in worship—from young adult ministry to her current role as Worship Leader.

Our Story

For over 70 years, Good News Church—formerly known as Glad Tidings Church—has been a place of hope in the city. Located in a central area, it continues to welcome people from all walks of life. More than its location, it’s the transforming message of the gospel that brings people together to experience God’s love and new life.

The church began in the early 1900s with a simple tent revival in a local neighborhood. Soon after, under the leadership of its founding pastor, it became part of a wider church movement and established its first permanent location. As the community grew, the church eventually moved to its current site under new leadership to better serve the city.

Years later, a powerful storm caused significant damage to the building—yet through faith and unity, the church was able to rebuild and continue its mission.
